So what exactly is hazardous waste?
We are licensed by the Environmental Protection agency to collect and dispose of domestic and commercial waste. What we’re not allowed to collect is anything that is officially designated as “hazardous”. But what specifically is hazardous waste? Radioactive waste springs to mind but there’s almost zero chance of you coming across that at home or at work unless you happen to have a job in a nuclear power plant.
The Government has an official list that includes banned substances such as asbestos, and chemicals like oil, brake fluid or printer toner, and pesticides – not things that you would very rarely use at home or at work unless you’re a builder, mechanic, farmer or printer! If you do have any of those you’ll need to find an approved handler to collect and dispose of them properly and safely. For everything else, call us!
