13-Wembley-Stadium

How many fridges fit in Wembley stadium?

How big is Wembley stadium? Really, really, really big! So big in fact that it’s big enough to hold 25,000 double-decker buses or 7 billion pints of milk, or if you’re into filling up stadiums with white goods, six million tonnes or fridges, freezers and washing machines!

But why does this matter? Because while we don’t fill up stadiums with white goods, we do throw them away to the tune of six million tonnes each year! But these can and should be recycled instead because doing so removes the hazardous substances and stops large amounts of electrical material ending up in landfill which might then pollute the ground or poison the water supply.

Did you know that you can recycle pretty much everything from large items such as fridge-freezers and washer-dryers to smaller items like curling tongs and mobiles and those good, good people over at Which? magazine have put together this useful guide to your options which range from calling us to take your waste to the recycling centre for you or you could try selling it on eBay!
